My Dear Friends, In October, 2008 I held several informal gatherings of friends who, I thought, might like to know more about what I’ve been teaching for the past five years. People showed quite a bit of interest. So, arising out of those gatherings came a series of weekly group get-togethers that continues today. It’s called Living without Limits: How to Make the Most of Our Lives. To say the least, these gatherings have proved very gratifying for both me and my attendees. They have been so rewarding, in fact, that I am considering forming a second ongoing weekly group. To that end… I am pleased to invite you to an informal get-together I will be hosting on January 20th and 22nd. At the very least, I think you will find what we talk about on those evenings quite interesting, if not exciting as well as very useful. Your attendance is a way for you to see firsthand if what I teach can help you enhance the quality of your life and start making it everything you desire it to be. I sincerely hope you can come! I will share my own story and experience as well as delve into some of the powerful understandings I have learned and now use to shape my own experience. You will also gain some valuable insights as well as some very effective tools you can use to guide your own life. But before telling you more, let me begin by sharing a bit about myself and my motivation. When I was young it was very clear to me that, as comfortable and easy as my life might have looked to others, I was not happy. I didn’t like myself at all. I was very insecure. As hard as I tried, I made a lot of mistakes. I never seemed to measure up to my or others’ expectations. Plus, I felt powerless to change my life. And so, many years ago I set out on a personal quest. It started inauspiciously, almost by accident, and then slowly grew into what is now my life direction and my passion. My quest in life was to change myself and my experience...to become happier, more fulfilled, more empowered, more loved and loving, more prosperous (rich!), and truly at peace within myself. For decades I sought answers to questions such as: “What makes people happy…and how can I be?” “How do people get what they desire and how can I?” and “How can I free myself from fear and doubt, and become a confident, peaceful, and joy-filled person?” My quest led me many places, at first to mainstream books, and quickly to more esoteric works and workshops, to courses and lectures, and finally deep into examining and working with my own experience. For years it led me to many partial answers and dead ends. Then something changed, and slowly I found myself uncovering the answers to all the questions I had been asking. I gained a new sense of self-empowerment and started taking charge of my life. I became clear about my desires and my ability to fulfill them…then I watched as my life began to unfold in the ways I desired it would! I made changes within myself, especially in my thinking and beliefs. I shifted how I felt about myself and, as I did, the entire quality of my experience changed. In short, my quest put me on a path that has led me to becoming a far more empowered, fulfilled individual. One of the things that I find most interesting, in retrospect, is that the answers I was seeking, the solutions to my problems, were not what people said they were. For example, like most people I know, I used to believe that if I just worked harder, that my efforts would bring me whatever I wanted. (That is the American dream after all.) I used to think that because I am reasonably smart that I would finally figure it all out and then all that I dreamed of and desired would come right to me. I also used to think “having more” (more money, more things, more education, etc.) was the way to remedy my unhappiness. For awhile I even thought that I could learn to just live with my unhappiness and my belief in my inadequacy, and let go of my dreams and desires. But I just couldn’t do that. I see now that I probably would not have found what I was seeking without some welcome one-on-one guidance that came from an unexpected source. Realizing that, I decided to commit myself to helping others who, like me, want to take responsibility for improving the quality of their experience, get much more out of life (including more love, prosperity, joy, health and all that they desire), find a deeper sense of purpose and self-acceptance, and who are ready to deal with—and resolve—their challenges and personal issues. I committed myself to becoming a guide for people who desire to play the Game of Life at what you might call “a higher level.” So, for the last five years I have taught evening courses and workshops, and now my weekly groups, sharing the power and significance of what I have come to understand and experience with anyone who will listen. My current group attracts about 10-12 people each week. Some come because they are interested in personal growth. Some seek more peace, joy and love, or to improve their prosperity or quality of life. Some have read self-help books like The Secret or Think and Grow Rich and want to know much more. Some want to overcome some specific personal challenge. And some are ready to take their next important steps on their spiritual path. There is something valuable here for many types of people. What I know and share can assist them all. YOUR INVITATION As I said, I am inviting you to come to one of two special introductory evenings in Marin. The dates and times for the events are: Tuesday evening, January 20 – 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. Thursday evening, January 22 – 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. Each evening is free, so I invite you to bring a friend or two with you! (In fact, you could forward this letter to them as their invitation.) Our time together will be an opportunity for me to share more about my experiences as well as my understandings. In some ways it will resemble my current weekly gatherings, relaxed, free-flowing, friendly and interactive. We’ll cover as much as we can in our limited time together. Among other things, we will talk about how… · Our lives can be so much more rewarding than they are now · How we can get where we want to go…if we know how · Why hard work and determination, and things like diets and New Year’s resolutions usually don’t work long-term, so our lives don’t change much · How you can use certain simple “tools” to start moving in the direction you desire to go You definitely won’t be bored! Along with light refreshments, you’ll get an overview of the content and some of the guiding principles we’ll cover in the new group. You’ll have plenty of time for asking questions. We may even do some simple, interesting exercises, introducing you to tools you can take with you and use to start shifting your life experience now. I ask only one thing: that you come with an open mind. This body of work has a great deal to offer those who are ready for it, and to receive maximum value one must be willing to open one’s mind just a bit. So, call a friend and then reserve your place. As I said, even if you come and then decide that you’re not interested in being in the group, I promise it will be an intriguing evening, time well spent. To reserve your place(s), please email me as soon as you can. My email address is: bcordingley@facefrontiers.com. On the subject line, please type “EVENT” or “INTRODUCTORY EVENT.” Just tell me (1) which date you have selected, and (2) how many people will be attending. Also, if you have any questions, feel free to ask them! I’m looking forward to hearing from you as much as I am excited to have the chance to get together. Sincerely, Bill Cordingley
